Scott J. Swendiman

STATEMENT OF CANDIDATE FOR
SUPERVISOR, 2nd DISTRICT

SCOTT SWENDIMAN Age: 53

Occupation: Real Estate broker in Shasta Co. for 35 years

Education and Qualifications: I was raised in Redding, graduated from Shasta High School and Shasta College and served in the U.S. Army from 1971-1973. I have been self employed for 35 years. I have never been a bureaucrat. My career has involved interacting with most local, state and federal agencies, which in some cases were very frustrating. I was the target of an iminent domain lawsuit filed by Shasta County and battled the U.S. Forest Service in an attempt to stop the removal of the boat houses from Lake Shasta. I am very familiar with the responsibilities of the board, having served the Enterprise School District and Shasta College, as well as the local and state Realtors Associations boards. My focus is the defence of private property rights. I believe that Shasta County government should be reflective of the area needs and not be an impediment to business growth. County government should serve its constituents, but also be accommodating to business growth, job creation and development needs in general. I understand the process and will insure that the resource management agency is solution oriented.
