Whether supporting a school bond measure, running as a candidate for public office, laws and regulations require that candidates and committees report campaign contributions and spending to ensure transparency and accountability for elections.

As the filing officer for Shasta County, local campaign filings can be searched and viewed by visiting Shasta County Netfile.

For State and Local candidates, visit the Fair Political Practices Commission.

For Federal candidates, visit the Federal Election Commission. 

Local Contribution Limits

As of  January 1, 2021, city and county candidates are now required to remain below the contribution limits passed under Assembly Bill (AB) 571. These limits are enforced by the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC). 2021 Contribution Limits Chart

Local Filing Schedules

Local Shasta County Ordinance_2019-07 applies to local county seats and adds an additional filing period to the FPPC filing schedule.
