Language Assistance

California law requires the Secretary of State to identify precincts that have 3% or more of voters who are members of a single language minority and lack sufficient skills in English to vote without assistance.

What it the Language Accessibility Advisory Committee?

The Language Accessibility Advisory Committee (LAAC) is a community group who provide recommendations to the Shasta/Tehama Registrar of Voters for improving access to voting and election materials to voters who primarily speak a language other than English.

LAAC is seeking community representatives, who can meet quarterly to collaborate with members of the Elections staff to improve voting accessibility.
